We associate fire with diversity and inclusion processes because significant shifts comes from “sitting in the fire” together to explore the “truth” of who we are. This leads to great healing and cleansing.
We create an environment of constructive challenge, ignite new thinking but avoid confrontation that impacts on personal feelings of safety. We help individuals see things anew, or new things, but it is up to them to bring about change.
Our approach to Diversity and Inclusion:
- Diversity and inclusion involves implementing processes that create and maintain a positive work environment where the similarities and differences of individuals are valued, so that all can reach their potential and maximize their contributions to an organisation’s strategic goals.
- In Shiftworx, the view is that the essence of diversity work is to build the awareness and explore opportunities for greater social justice within, and outside, of organisations.
- We aim to go beyond “political correctness”, “getting along” and reconciliation to engage in the tough conversations that surface and address outdated belief systems, allowing individuals and organisations to identify and modify unproductive behaviour.
